Serbian President Boris Tadic, Croatian President Stipe Mesic and the Serbian and Croatian delegations laid a wreath on the Tesla commemorative plaque on Hotel New Yorker, in Manhattan, on Sept. 21, 2006

Tesla Memorial Society of New York and many Tesla admirers around the world are grateful to Serbian President Boris Tadic, Croatian President Stipe Mesic and the Serbian and Croatian delegations for laying a wreath on the Tesla commemorative plaque on Hotel New Yorker, Manhattan.  This is a beautiful tribute to Nikola Tesla and a display of brotherhood between Serbia and Croatia.

Above: Serbian President Boris Tadic and Croatian President Stipe Mesic were interviewed by the press.  President Tadic "I am delighted to be here with Croatian President Stipe Mesic to pay tribute to Nikola Tesla, who did so much for the world's discoveries.  Nobody reached such a high level of scientific achievement like Nikola Tesla".  The Serbian President also said "Tesla was born in Croatia by Serbian parents and he was proud of his Serbian origin and Croatian fatherhood".

Tesla Memorial Society of New York and many Tesla admirers around the world are grateful to the Serbian President Boris Tadic and Croatian President Stipe Mesic lying a wreath on the Tesla commemorative plaque on Hotel New Yorker, in Manhattan. 

Nikola Tesla is one of the greatest scientist who lived, who is a factor of peace among the people of the Balkans and people of the previous Austro-Hungarian Monarchy.  Nikola Tesla lived in Hotel New Yorker for ten years, from 1933 to January 7, 1943, when he died in the Suite 3327 on the 33rd floor of Hotel New Yorker.

On July 10, 2001 the Nikola Tesla commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Hotel New Yorker, in Manhattan. The plaque was made by the Yugoslav-American bicentennial committee in 1977. For political reasons the plaque could not be placed at the Hotel New Yorker, at that time. Dr. Ljubo Vujovic was supported by the Serbian Orthodox Church, and many other organizations and individuals in placing the plaque at the Hotel New Yorker after 24 years of waiting to be placed.
