The Delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church visits the United States The Delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church led by his Eminence Mitropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro visited Washington D.C., New York the Serbian Orthodox Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey and the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sava in Manhattan, New York. His Eminence, Mitropolitan Amfilohije, a high ranking and esteemed official of the Serbian Orthodox Church, was accompanied on his journey to the United States by Father Iriney Dabrijevich, representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Washington D.C. and Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic, Yugoslav Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs. The delegation visited many intuitions in Washington D.C. and New York City. They also visited the United Nations in New York. The delegation also visited the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sava, Manhattan, New York, on June 20, 2002 at 6 pm. During their visit at St. Sava many people were present at their conference which they talked and answered questions. The delegation was warmly greeted by the audience. On this evening, Dr. Ljubo Vujovic, Secretary General, Tesla Memorial Society of New York, gave to the Serbian Orthodox Church of "St. Sava", in the name of the Tesla Society, a framed proclamation of "Nikola Tesla Day". The Governor of the State of New York, George E. Pataki proclaimed July 10th, Tesla's birthday, an official day of celebration in New York State. Many US Governors proclaimed July 10th "Nikola Tesla Day" in their states.
